Second Time In Cadayonan – Besigan

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. – Proverbs 3:27

I am blessed to be a part of one blogging organization who does not only aim to uphold ourĀ  city in the world wide web but also gives emphasis on social responsibilities. Last December (yes! this is a long overdue post), CDOBloggers, Inc. ones again went to the City’s farthest baranggay (Besigan) to hold a Christmas Outreach to the pupils of Cadayonan Elementary School. This is the organization’s second time to visit the place and we are glad to see that the school has improved a lot since our last visit. From 2 almost make-shift classrooms, now to 2 buildings of 2 classrooms each plus comfort rooms at the back. I am personally so happy to see the newly constructed classrooms as it means the children will remain dry and can continue with their classes even when it’s pouring outside (which normally happens almost everyday in Cadayonan-Besigan).

I would like to share some of the photos taken during our visit.

This outreach is also extra special to me because my eldest son decided to go with the group to help us with the outreach program. This trip made him appreciate more the things that he have.

besigan-goingMike, Irene, Ruby, Jenjacqs, Germz, Edu, Me, Micah and NJ braved the stiff and super rough road going to Cadayonan Elementary School in the spirit of giving. Made ourselves comfortable at the back of this truck (not really the cleanest so we had to settle sitting on a used tarpaulin and empty boxes of cartoons and braced ourselves for the 2 and a half hour rough ride to make it in one piece) Thank you to the CDO City Engineers office for the ride.

The kids – the same kids two years ago when we first visited. So happy to see most of them didn’t stop going to school. They weren’t unruly and they didn’t mind the rain as they were so excited to receive their gifts. Cadayonan now caters Grade 1-Grade 4. Next school year will be until Grade 5. Thank you Teacher Ramon, Joeph and the school’s head for accommodating us and for helping us put things in order.

Even with the slippers, the kids were so excited! Thank you to Cepalco and Bang & Ding Aban for all these. You have made many kids happy!

We also brought a little something for the parents and seeing the smile on their faces is purely priceless!

besegan 2This boy with us (Ruby, Jenjacqs and Me) we remembered him from two years back. He gamely sang the ABC during our first visit and look how grown up he is now! Mind you, we asked him to sing the ABC ones again and he surely did!

besegan 1Thank you so much to all who shared their blessings to make this outreach possible. To Redlemon Digital Media, Jia Cha, Poprock, Ms. Ma Cheryl Tano and her generous friends, Ding and Bang Aban, CEPALCO, Liempo King, Online blogger friendsĀ  and to the CDOBloggers members who also shared their blessings. God will bless you/your business for your generosity. You truly made these kids happy.

Thank you :). Trying my best to show my son gratefulness and kindness towards others so when it’s his turn to give back he will do it with all his heart.

Thank you! that was a long, very bumpy and uncomfortable ride going to the place. The children’s smiles made it all worth it.

This is an amazing project! When I was in high school I was part of a club that would raise money for under-privileged students so that they could go to all of the senior dances and events. Congrats on the success!

It is nice to see the kids still in school. I’ve had that feeling here too…when re-visiting a school I worked at. :) I’m glad it was a great event. :)

That is amazing that you were able to have that experience, and share it with your son! Outreach and helping others is something I wish my family did more. I guess we just need to commit to it. Thank you for the inspiration!

Yes! that made the trip more special because I was able to show my son how fulfilling it is to give back. I love that he didn’t mind the difficult ride and told me he’d love to go back again.

Being a part of a blogging group really helps discovering and learning new things. Giving the kids slippers brings joy to their hearts. It might be a simple gift but one that’s useful for them.
